“Mommy, I’m gazing at these little gold balls on the bow of my purse. Oh, Mommy. This purse is totally fancy.”
A good friend, Auntie G, came to visit and brought Ayay the following dress-up items: a pink feather boa, sparkly pink sunglasses and a pink feathery purse. You can imagine Ayay’s excitement.
The items were on Ayay before you could say Fancy Nancy. Despite the overcast May gray of Santa Barbara, despite the fact that we went from inside the house to inside the car to inside CPK for lunch, Ayay wore the sparkly sunglasses the entire time. (And she brought the feathery purse in the car.) Even after we returned home so that Ayay and F could make cupcakes, the glasses stayed on. Those glasses did not leave her face until she climbed into the bath that night.
And by 7:15am the next morning, Ayay was fully adorned with the sunglasses, pink boa and feathery purse once again. Oh, and in the purse was a purple boa “just in case the pink one got too itchy.”
Am I raising a diva? Don’t answer that.
