Do not, under any circumstances, move heavy furniture while in the midst of training for a race.
I made that mistake 2 days ago when Tingting’s “big girl bed” was delivered. With 2 hours before I had to pick up the girls, I was determined to arrange the furniture and make the room look oh so cutesy. I couldn’t wait 5 hours until F got home. I was going to do it by myself!
Hmmm, bed here? No, I’ll try it over there. Push, pull, push, pull, pull, pull, push, push, push. Hmmm, no that’s not good. How about over there? Push, push, lift, push, pull, lift, lift, puuuuuuuush. Nope. Don’t like that either. Aha, here’s an idea! Lift, lift, lift, push, puuuuuull, heave, ho. There. Terrific. And now for this dresser. Over there? Push, push, push. No. It should go back where it started. 1, 2, 3, lift, carry, side-step, carry, side-step. Ah, there we go. Perfect.
The room looks cute, but me, not so cute with a permanent look of discomfort on my face as pain shoots through my lower back while sitting, standing, walking and reaching. It’s been 2 days. I have the time and patience left for 1 more day, maybe 2, of this nonsense and then it’s time to run again. You hear that body? I’m on a schedule!
Yup, note to self: Do not move heavy furniture while training for a race. In fact, do not move heavy furniture, period.
