Every morning when I open up my email, I find a Quote of the Day from Runner’s World. Just when I was about to cancel my Quote of the Day subscription, this one popped up:

I think I get used to, even addicted to, the feelings associated with the end of a long training run. I love feeling empty, clean, worn out, starving, and sweat-purged. I love the good ache of muscles that have done me proud. I love the way a cold beer tastes later that afternoon. I love the way my body feels light and sinewy.

Kristin Armstrong, Author and runner

Word. But maybe I’d substitute a glass of red wine for the cold beer.

  1. Yes! I love this comment. That feeling is what I’m craving, and the only thing that motivates me to get out. But, quite frankly, I’m back to where a 5 mile run makes me feel that way 🙂
