Whoa!

It’s been so long since I’ve blogged that I even forgot my login and password and had to reset them. Sheesh.

I know all you thousands of readers out there have been wondering why I’ve fallen off the blogging planet. Ok, maybe not thousands, but I know 2 of you have been wondering and have actually commented on my hiatus. (Shout out to Cindy and Beeka!)

We’ve been quite busy in the Bahnson household. Here’s the random rundown:

Fred has been working about 90+ hours a week. Poor guy came home Monday afternoon after a 32 hour shift and I realized he just worked almost all the hours most people work in a full week. And it was only Monday. The next day he returned to work to do another 30 hour shift.

I’ve been working 25+ hours per week and learning (and enjoying) all the behind-the-scenes work of Team in Training. Nike Women’s Marathon is in 1 week. I’ll be running the Half, and I simply cannot wait for what will be another extraordinary weekend in San Francisco.

Cecilia has lost 2 teeth since starting 1st grade. Sometimes she talks like she’s 6 going on 14. (Oh, I do not look forward to 14!)  She has traded in her dresses and skirts for jeggings and t-shirts, at least for now.  Her first gymnastics competition is next weekend, and she has loved learning all the different routines on the beam, floor, bars and vault. Cecilia will also be performing in The Nutcracker with her ballet school.

And Penelope…oh, Penelope. She’s three. She likes to push buttons and challenge her parents. And just when I think I’m about to tear out my hair (or hers), she starts singing the sweetest song or puts on her serious ballerina face and performs a show for me. She will be in a production of Rudolph with her ballet class. And she’s following in her big sister’s footsteps and showing a love for the bar, at gymnastics class that is.

Our fish, Pinoy, died. That was a tragedy in our house. Cecilia spent a good hour sobbing in her bedroom. Penelope, on the other hand, stated matter of factly, “Everything dies eventually.” The girls were eager to get a new fish and we named Silas. The girls remind me to feed him every morning and they say goodnight to Silas almost every night.

That’s the gist of it. My goal is a weekly post now that things have settled down a bit.

And what’s a post without pictures…

Cecilia the animal lover

Gold leggings, her "mixed tape" shirt because she is mixed...a bit blurry but I love this picture.

  1. I remember the day when Katie traded in her adorable dresses for the legging and T-shirt look. Sorry, she never went back…that was when my “suggestions” began to seem less reasonable to her too. Oh, and wait until seventeen!

  2. The best part of this was that YOU forgot your pw and login! I don’t feel so old. Glad you’re back- missed the stories.
Go for the gusto in San Francisco!

  3. I love it, and so glad you had an awesome time in San Fran! I am so with you on the three year old status right now. So adorable, yet so naughty and challenging all in one. I’m so excited to hear more about your position as you’re in it longer, you’re going to be so wonderful!
